Chicago Westside Mutual Aid

Donation protected
We are part of a Mutual Aid network seeking to raise money to support those who need groceries on the westside of Chicago. COVID-19 has shut down many businesses and residents of westside neighborhoods who often work hourly jobs in the restaurant industry and retail are out of work. We are using donated food and donated funds to ensure that our neighbors are cared for during this time.  So far in the first week, we've dropped off 20+ grocery deliveries to seniors, single parents, and others who have been impacted by coronavirus. We are using produce donated by Trader Joe's and Whole Foods supplemented by the funds raised here to buy items such as toilet paper, meat, eggs, and milk. This week we spend approximately $220 on the deliveries; we anticipate that the number of requests will continue to increase as time goes on.
