Chicken the cat's vet bill
Donation protected
To those who donated: please send either me or chels your address so we can send you a thank you letter!
UPDATE: When we made this gofundme, we were getting ready to face the worst. The vet told us that it usually takes 4 hours for "linear foreign objects" to start making their way through the intestines and require surgery. Chicken was at hour 6.
This morning (~hour 16), the vets performed an ultrasound and found the tinsel still in her stomach. They were able to give her an endoscopy and remove the tinsel before it caused major damage to her GI tract.
Chicken has been released and we are now keeping an eye on her for a few days to make sure everything is fine.
Chels and I are so incredibly thankful to anyone who donated, and we are so lucky chicken does not require surgery. The amount donated is enough to cover the final fees for pickup.
Anyone who's owned a cat knows they will do anything in their power to unalive themselves.
This cat was let downstairs for 5 seconds and she managed to eat a piece of tinsel.
Vet bill has already hit 6k, with the possibility of surgery (another 6-10k).
We have pet insurance that will cover 80% of the cost, but we still have to pay it all up front before making the claim.
Please help, I don't want my baby to die.
