My sister in the above video is a 200l English student of coou university anambra state. February 13th 2023, she was on her way to charge her phone so she could submit her assignment, when the driver of the bike she was on lost control of the motorcycle and fell into a big gutter at the school area along with her The driver came out with a few bruises but my sister never remained the same since then.
Her left leg was cut into two pieces which took her ankle and feet completely off the entire leg.
The bones in her right lap/thighs also broke into pieces.
Her front teeth was badly broken.
She had tons of deep injuries on her hands and legs.
Bruises on her head, face and lips.
She was also robbed off her phone and charging accessories on the spot the accident occurred.
The residents of that area left her bleeding in the gutter for over 30minutes while she kept crying and begging them to reach out to her parents.
People kept making videos of her all through the pain until a Good Samaritan who was driving past the accident scene stopped and carried her out of the gutter, took her into his car and drove off to a hospital. The first hospital she was taken to, offered no help as she was left to keep bleeding with no form of help until a fellow student came to yell at them before she finally got some basic care which was just some bandages and a stick to support the broken leg.
My sister was later transferred to specialist orthopedic hospital at Agu, Awka where she have been since February 13th 2023.
She has undergone 5 surgeries so far, along with lots intensive care which have spanned into millions of naira and despite the progress we’ve seen so far, she still needs to undergo a few more corrective surgeries along with some more treatment procedures to helpclose the bones still exposed.
We have received some donations from her campus fellowship, Faculty Dean and departmental HOD but unfortunately we have currently exhausted all we have got at the moment. This have led to the medical care being suspended by the Doctors. My sister have been now been left unattended to for a few days now due to lack of funds to continue and this have raised fears of infections or the case being worsened . It is why with so much sorrow in my heart, I sincerely want to appeal to the general public for support and assistance in any way or form as we currently have an outstanding hospital bill to the tune of N4million naira.
This will help clear up what we owe the hospital so far, along with the after care and surgeries she will still req
uire. this is a 17 year old child, no kid deserves this
