Gary Methvin is our Fire Chief at Valley Springs Fire Department, and has been a member for over 20 years. In March of this year, Gary was unexpectedly diagnosed with colon cancer that has metastasized to his liver. Test are still being done, so the extent of his cancer is not fully known yet. Gary has already underwent one surgery, and will have many trips back-and-forth to Springfield to undergo chemotherapy.

We are asking for funds to help him and his wife, with travel cost, medical bills, and any other expenses that arise. Gary has been off work since his diagnosis, and his wife has had to cut down on her work hours as well.
