Chief Jimmy Jacques Fundraiser
Donation protected
On November 7th 2018 Jimmy Jacques, a Charleston Firefighter was hunting, a hobby of his on his off days when he fell out of the back of his truck and injured his knee. Jimmy was transported to MUSC by EMS and was admitted to the hospital. After several X-Rays, MRI's, and CT scans it became evident that Jimmy fully tore his ACL (Anterior Cruciate Ligament), partially tore his MCL (Medial Collateral Ligament), and partially tore the Femoral Artery in his right leg. Jimmy was told that he would need surgery for the injuries that he sustained. After meeting with the surgeon, Jimmy’s surgery was scheduled for January 10th, 2019. On the Friday before Christmas, Jimmy was informed by the doctors that while the insurance company would pay for the majority of the surgery, Jimmy would be responsible for several thousands of dollars, upfront. Jimmy works extremely hard as a career battalion chief, a volunteer firefighter, and a reserve police officer. Jimmy is married with three little girls. Jimmy and his wife gave their three daughters a nice Christmas, not realizing that they needed to front a substantial amount of money for this surgery. Our brother is in need of your help during this difficult time. Whatever you can contribute will greatly help Jimmy and his family get through this tough time and get Jimmy back to work. A fundraiser is being planned by Jimmy’s brothers from the Charleston Firefighters Association. Stay tuned for further information.
