Fellow Chiefs,
With the COVID-19 pandemic impacting everyday life, the future has never felt so unpredictable. These are challenging times for all of us, and we hope this note finds you in good health and good spirits. We care about you and think of you every day. We also want you to know that right now, we, your Elizabeth City CPOA officers are doing everything possible to preserve what those who came before us built.
As you know, locally the CPOA is very active in a number of great causes. From Special Olympics to Foster Children, local school libraries, Boy Scout Troops, and the community at large, our commitment remains strong. Unfortunately, with the restrictions that have been in place since the onset of the pandemic, our income for the past three months has been $0 with no indication of when we will be able to reopen. Alas, the maintenance, insurance and power bills continue to rapidly deplete our savings.
Your Board has been diligently working to come up with some solutions, but at this time we are not permitted to have the good ol’ brat sale or trivia night to raise some money. As Chiefs, we are great at taking care of our people. Now, it’s time for us to take care of our CPOA which will enable us to continue supporting our shipmates AND our community.
We’ve weathered the storm so far, but need help to continue. Please feel free to share with anyone and everyone who might like to help. We are the only CPOA chapter who has the privilege to own a building with property that promotes unity within the Mess, our valued partner organizations, and our community that has always provided us with so much support. Please consider helping, donations in ANY amount are helpful. Thank you in advance – we have the BEST Chiefs and partners anywhere!
Sincerely,
Ann Logan
CPOA President
