Chief Scott McClintock and family.
Donation protected
The members of the Northern York County Fire & Rescue wanted to show our love and support to our previous fire chief who is in the battle of his life. Chief Scott McClintock as served the community as a volunteer firefighter and chief for over 30 years and now he needs our help. There are no better words to describe what Scott is going through then the words from his wife Jamey, see below:
I dont know how many times I've started this post only to delete it and start again. What I share with you all is the most devastating news I can think of. Yet, we walk in the midst of a deep, abiding peace.
My hero/hubby is in need of a miracle. He has recently experienced a series of strokes that has rocked his world. Initially they were small but they grow in intensity. He was recovering well only to realize that the strokes were not the real problem. Deep inside his body is a mass on his pancreas that has been discovered to be stage 4 cancer and the likely cause of the strokes.
With no awareness of it at all, the pancreatic cancer has also spread to his liver and his lungs. Shockingly, he has been sent home in the care of hospice with the realization that his body would not withstand chemo. Although we continue to pray for healing, without God's intervention, he will most likely succomb to another, growing stroke.
I have no words to describe the experience of watching someone you love go through this. Yet, we are surrounded by all seven of our children, their spouses, significant others and my mom. Besides heaven, what better place is there to be? We have raised kids who are kind and compassionate, strong and loving. Our hearts swell with gratefulness as we see them rise to the occassion of providing care for their father, loving him through every minute of what is most likely the end of his life.
I am amazed at God's provision of our beautiful home that has allowed us to have them temporarily move back in. We are surrounded by the fruits of all of our most meaningful work--raising our family. There is no better place to be than held in the arms of Jesus surrounded by those you love.
I realize that for some this place feels very, very dark but I speak for both of us when I tell you that while this is the most difficult thing we have ever done, we are not without hope. There is no darkness for us. It is definitely a fierce battle, but one that Scott will win one way or the other.
Scott and our family are in need of your prayers. Every day is difficult. Yet we see God everywhere--especially in the eyes of all of these brown-eyed children of ours.
If you are able to give to help cover any medical expenses that the family may face through this journey it would be greatly appreciated. If you are not able to donate then all the prayers you can offer are greatly appreciated.
