Chief Terry Hollingsworth's Family Memorial
Donation protected
Our family and community lost Chief Terry Hollingsworth on January 30, 2023. Terry Hollingsworth worked in Overbrook, Kansas as Chief for 15 years, he retired as Chief on August 5, 2022. He didn't retire completely, he went to work with the Osage County Sheriff's Department working at the Lyndon Courthouse.
Chief Hollingsworth's family wants to show the City of Overbrook how much he loved his community. To do this we have decided to create a not-for-profit for him and the love he had for baseball and the police department. We are having a softball tournament and cookout at the Overbrook Ball Fields on April 29th from 1 pm and 8 pm. At this time we are wanting to have a plague commemorated for Chief Hollingsworth with part of the donations. The rest of the donations at this time will go to the Parks and Recs to fix up the ball fields and get equipment for the children that are needing supplies.
The City of Overbrook is also planning on setting a proclamation on August 5th as Chief Terry Hollingsworth's day. At that time the family is setting up plans to unveil a bench in honor of Chief Hollingsworth. There are also plans in place to have events set for this time as well. Nothing has been set in concrete at this time.
The family is also planning on setting up a donation process for the local police departments to receive money in the name of Chief Hollingsworth to send officers to KLTCE and purchase needed items for the police departments. This is going to be an ongoing process for years to come. We would appreciate anything that you can help with to continue this process for the community in honor of our father Terry Hollingsworth.
