Chieko Bench Dedication

Hello,

Chieko passed away in August after battling an aggressive form of breast cancer for almost two and a half years. She had been in hospice for the last month as she too weak for treatment. However, up until the last couple of days, she was still planning future special occasions and requesting delicious food from all of her friends and visitors. She never gave up the fight.

Chieko had a favorite oak tree in California Native Garden. It had special meaning to her and her favorite cat, Daphne. Each Spring, when the wildflowers bloom, she would imagine Daphne frolicking in the meadow.

The bench is now complete and ready to use! It overlooks the tree and the meadow and will last 30 years to be enjoyed by all her friends and family. Please come visit as often as you can. Thank you again for all your contributions!
