Chifundo Foundation Summer School

Hi everyone! 

We have volunteered to go to Malawi for the Chifundo charity to spend two weeks teaching in their summer school for disadvantaged children. This charity was set up by Pete Cogavin, a secondary English teacher, and his family and is doing amazing work and helping children who don't have access to lots of formal educational opportunities. 

A typical day at the summer school will be formal reading, writing and maths lessons in the morning then sports and physical activities in the afternoon. The teachers (6 of us) will live on site for the two weeks. 

As many know, we are primary school teachers so it felt like it would be a good idea to volunteer some of our summer to help out with the project.  

The thing is, the charity needs donations to be able to keep the project running. It would be AMAZING if you could donate towards this! We are aiming to raise £2000. We would waaaay rather this than any future birthday or Christmas present. Donate something and feel virtuous!

Also, if you have any educational supplies you could donate that would be fantastic. We will be taking luggage and will take as many resources as possible with us. Please let us know if we can collect them from you or we can meet for us to pick them up somewhere.
