Texas Chihuahua Rescue is comprised of passionate individuals, dedicated to saving the lives of the second most euthanized dog breed in Texas. We strive to educate our community, assist our shelters, and continue to grow our organization. TXCR is here to help small dogs live big dreams.

This year has been the hardest year for our organization both financially and with the loss of Catherine as a major figure head in our rescue. We have had to make some really hard decisions, cutting back transport as we lost two vans this year, letting go of drivers whom we love and cherish and not assisting other rescues, shelters and organizations in the manner we used to be able to, and wish we could sustain.

We downsized a bit in some areas in hopes to save the rescue as a whole and to be able to continue to take in as many special needs, elderly and critical care dogs as we possibly could.

However with all the budget cutting and change, there is still just not enough funds to keep us operating at the high level of intake we are at currently. To take in 50-60 dogs a month, we need staffing, vetting, food, supplies, and quite frankly, money, to pay for it all. Texas Chihuahua Rescue is now facing a BIG challenge, a fork in the road. We fundraise, we find the love, support and generosity from our TXCR community and GLOW UP, or the only other option will be to down size. I know none us here at the rescue want to see us downsize, and I know the dogs of South Texas cannot take any more set backs. They need us and we need YOU!
