Children of Siargao: Typhoon Odette Relief

On December 16th Typhoon Odette ripped through the small surfing island of Siargao, Philippines. The typhoon has destroyed 90-95% of the islands infrastructure, resulting in homelessness for the nearly 200,000 person population. As of this writing, the island is still without signal and limited communications via satellite phone have indicated that mass thirst and hunger are on the rise. Typhoon Odette - the worst storm in recent history - has left our island devastated.

The global pandemic hit the island hard, spiraling the local community into new levels of poverty, and Typhoon Odette has made the island practically uninhabitable. A group of Siargao residents are out of the island and are mobilizing to raise funds and distribute food, potable water, shelter, medical and construction supplies amongst the villages across the island. But it’s not enough.

INTERNATIONAL FRIENDS: we need your help. Siargao is full of young families, children and babies that need additional resources. If you are in a position to contribute, any and every amount will be greatly appreciated.

WHERE YOUR FUNDS WILL GO: All funds collected from this page will be used to purchase and distribute food, water, diapers, formula and newborn essentials to families in crisis island-wide. Additional funds will be shared with LOKALLAB to help with immediate relief needs. Updates will be made as changes in needs occur.
