Children's Collective needs funding in Guatemala

Hello ♥ This is a call to action, as a magical event and collective is being manifested for the children of the Lake Atitlán region, and it will be possible if many people support this cause. Donors, sponsors, and collaborators are needed!

What: A special event will be held for the children in Mid-Late March 2022, with the intention of bridging the worlds that exist here in the San Marcos / Lake Atitlán region. I am inspired and feel a need for the local and international children to come together and to have space held for them (to become familiar with each other, to exchange languages and cultures, to learn, play, and engage creatively) in this increasingly intercultural community. The goal is to be able to form a children’s collective with ongoing offerings for the children around the entire lake.

Details of the Event: The children will be given the space, resources, and facilitation needed to come together to express themselves, tap into their creativity, and ignite excitement - something curated with love and intention for the children from different worlds to connect in a safe space. The event will be fully hosted by myself (Holistic Educator) and several talented collaborators (parents, you can relax). English and Spanish will be spoken with ongoing translations throughout the event. See below for more logistics.

Activities → Guided Meditation and Sound Healing, Introductions and Language Exchange, Storytelling, Eco-Literacy, Mindfulness Games, Music, Movement, Dance, and Art, and more!

Donors: If you are able to contribute financially, any amount is received with profound gratitude.

* What the funds will be used for: resources and materials (art supplies, books), rent for the venue, fair exchange for the collaborator’s time and energy, food for the lunch intermission, materials for marketing. All surplus donations will be funneled into the children’s collective.

* If you have anything to donate or lend, please reach out as second-hand materials are also appreciated and preferred over buying brand new. (ie: speaker, instruments, decorations, books, etc.)

Who am I: My name is Brittni (aka Brisa). With a deep passion, care and concern for the wellbeing of our Planet, I have dedicated the last decade of my life to being of service to children, the Earth, and animals. As an Artist, Holistic Educator, and Art Therapist - I have been involved in many missions and projects that help to connect children to Mother Nature + the Arts. I was living in Costa Rica for 3 years before coming to Guatemala half a year ago – some of the things I was doing there: Helping to get clean drinking water installed for the local school in the most isolated part of the country, Mentoring at the Holistic Education Collective “Life Project Education” (Life Project Education ), Offering Children’s Art and Eco Therapy services (see Vitamin Being Kids Services ), and Running a Sea Turtle and Environmental Conservation project that I co-founded on the Osa Peninsula (Turtle Project ) . I have a degree in Psychology with a specialization in childhood development, and have 8 years of experience in various therapeutic and educational settings.

As many of those already know, it is a privilege to be living in this beautiful region of the world as a foreigner, and it is vital to be integrating on these lands (learning the history, language, preserving the heritage, practicing right relations with the local and Mayan people, and so much more). It is essential to introduce the customs and ways of thinking that come from different cultures in a way that does not colonize the Guatemalan ways, but rather that this community works towards becoming a pocket of the world where there is intercultural harmony, deep understanding, and symbiotic support.

I recognize that our precious Earth and ancient and Indigenous traditions are under grave threat, mostly due to unconscious destructive behaviors of human beings - and that one way we can shift this sad reality is through raising our children to feel connected to Nature and themselves (as individuals, and as a collective). Every single person plays a part in this global shift in consciousness, and I feel that one of the big solutions to this is to bring together the future generations (the children), to heal from these last years of disruption to humanity, and to grow together as a community in joy.

Logistics:

When: Mid-Late March 2022. Likely on a Saturday or Sunday.

Where: TBD. San Marcos. Several event spaces are being considered at this time.

Collaborators: There are several beautiful souls who have offered collaborative efforts, but we would be happy to hear from you if you are interested in becoming involved. If you have experience working with children, love kids, please reach out. The event will just be the beginning of something very special.

Attendees: The event will be divided into two time slots tailored to the different age ranges:

Early Years: Ages 4-6 (9:00am - 12:00pm) Maximum 8 children

Lunch with parents invited: 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Upper Years Ages 7-10 (1:00pm - 4:00pm) Maximum 10 children

Due to the nature of the event (child-centered), we ask that the parents leave during the event so that the children can experience a bit more independence in a social setting that will empower them - they are growing into their unique selves! There will be a liability form to sign and a photographer present (with consent) for you to see the kids in action in this way. There will be a lunch provided for children and parents to join.

Hola ♥ Este es un llamado a la acción, ya que se está manifestando un evento mágico y colectivo para los niños de la región del lago Atitlán, y será posible si muchas personas apoyan esta causa. ¡Se necesitan donantes, patrocinadores y colaboradores!

Qué: Se llevará a cabo un evento especial para los niños a mediados o fines de marzo de 2022, con la intención de unir los mundos que existen aquí en la región de San Marcos / Lago Atitlán. Me inspira y siento la necesidad de que los niños locales e internacionales se reúnan y tengan un espacio reservado para ellos (para familiarizarse entre sí, intercambiar idiomas y culturas, aprender, jugar y participar creativamente) en este comunidad cada vez más intercultural. El objetivo es poder formar un colectivo infantil con ofrendas continuas para los niños de todo el lago.

Detalles del evento: Los niños recibirán el espacio, los recursos y la facilitación necesarios para reunirse y expresarse, aprovechar su creatividad y despertar la emoción, algo curado con amor e intención para que los niños de diferentes mundos se conecten en un espacio seguro. El evento será organizado en su totalidad por mí (Educador holístico) y varios colaboradores talentosos (padres, pueden relajarse). Se hablará inglés y español con traducciones continuas durante todo el evento. Vea a continuación para más logística.

Actividades → Meditación guiada y sanación con sonido, introducciones y intercambio de idiomas, narración de cuentos, educación ecológica, juegos de atención plena, música, movimiento, danza y arte, ¡y más!

Donantes: Si puede contribuir económicamente, cualquier cantidad se recibe con profunda gratitud.

* Para qué se utilizarán los fondos: recursos y materiales (artículos de arte, libros), alquiler del lugar, intercambio justo por el tiempo y la energía del colaborador, comida para el almuerzo intermedio, materiales para marketing. Todas las donaciones excedentes se canalizarán al colectivo de niños.

* Si tiene algo para donar o prestar, comuníquese con nosotros, ya que los materiales de segunda mano también son apreciados y preferidos a comprar nuevos. (es decir: altavoz, instrumentos, decoraciones, libros, etc.)

Quién Soy: Mi nombre es Brittni (alias Brisa). Con una profunda pasión, cuidado y preocupación por el bienestar de nuestro Planeta, he dedicado la última década de mi vida a estar al servicio de los niños, la Tierra y los animales. Como artista, educadora holística y terapeuta de arte, he estado involucrada en muchas misiones y proyectos que ayudan a conectar a los niños con la Madre Naturaleza y las Artes. Estuve viviendo en Costa Rica durante 3 años antes de venir a Guatemala hace medio año; algunas de las cosas que estaba haciendo allí: Ayudar a instalar agua potable limpia para la escuela local en la parte más aislada del país, Tutoría en la Colectivo de Educación Holística “Proyecto de Vida Educativo” (Life Project Education), Ofreciendo Arte Infantil y servicios de Ecoterapia (ver Servicios de Vitamina Ser Niños), y Dirigiendo un Proyecto de Conservación Ambiental y de Tortugas Marinas que co-fundé en la Península de Osa (Proyecto Tortuga ) . Soy Licenciada en Psicología con especialización en desarrollo infantil, y cuento con 8 años de experiencia en diversos escenarios terapéuticos y educativos.

Como muchos de ellos ya saben, es un privilegio estar viviendo en esta hermosa región del mundo como extranjero, y es vital estar integrándose en estas tierras (aprendiendo la historia, el idioma, preservando el patrimonio, practicando las correctas relaciones con la gente local y maya, y mucho más). Es fundamental introducir las costumbres y formas de pensar que provienen de diferentes culturas de una manera que no colonice las formas guatemaltecas, sino que esta comunidad trabaje para convertirse en un bolsillo del mundo donde haya armonía intercultural, comprensión profunda y apoyo simbiótico.

Reconozco que nuestra preciosa Tierra y las tradiciones ancestrales e indígenas están bajo una grave amenaza, principalmente debido a los comportamientos destructivos inconscientes de los seres humanos, y que una forma en que podemos cambiar esta triste realidad es criando a nuestros hijos para que se sientan conectados con la Naturaleza y con ellos mismos (como individuales y como colectivo). Cada persona juega un papel en este cambio global en la conciencia, y siento que una de las grandes soluciones a esto es reunir a las generaciones futuras (los niños), sanar de estos últimos años de interrupción de la humanidad y crecer. juntos como una comunidad en la alegría.

Logísticas:

Dónde: por determinar. San Marcos. En este momento se están considerando varios espacios para eventos.

Colaboradores: Hay varias almas hermosas que han ofrecido esfuerzos de colaboración, pero nos encantaría saber de usted si está interesado en participar. Si tiene experiencia trabajando con niños, ama a los niños, comuníquese con nosotros. El evento será solo el comienzo de algo muy especial.

Registro: El evento se dividirá en dos franjas horarias adaptadas a los diferentes rangos de edad:

Edades 4-6 años (9:00 am - 12:00 pm) Máximo 8 niños

Almuerzo con los padres invitados: 12:00pm - 1:00pm

Edades 7-10 años (1:00pm - 4:00pm) Máximo 10 niños

Debido a la naturaleza del evento (centrado en el niño), pedimos que los padres se vayan durante el evento para que los niños puedan experimentar un poco más de independencia en un entorno social que los empoderará: ¡están creciendo en su ser único! Habrá un formulario de responsabilidad para firmar y un fotógrafo presente (con consentimiento) para que pueda ver a los niños en acción de esta manera. Habrá un almuerzo proporcionado para que los niños y los padres se unan.
