Hi there! We are Friends of Chili House, and our mission is to support the Chili Community House - a non-profit school for children in Indonesia, built by the community for the community. The school has two locations Gili Trawangan and Lombok.

Details About Our Mission:

Indonesia's education system is facing a number of challenges, including low quality of teaching, poor infrastructure, high dropout rates, and the fact that schools are not free. This makes it difficult for many Indonesian students to receive the education they need to succeed.

The high dropout rate is particularly concerning, as it is often due to poverty or the need to support families. This makes the difference in education quality between urban and rural areas, as well as among rich and poor students, even bigger. Disadvantaged students often attend schools with insufficient resources and unqualified teachers, compounding the problem.

Non-profit organizations like Chili House are helping to address these challenges by educating children using modern ways, focusing on life skills, English, healthy lifestyles, and personal growth. This gives children from rural areas more opportunities in future life.

Our mission is crystal clear: to provide safe and well-structured additional education and daily activity programs to develop a better society and well-educated children. We firmly believe that a happy child is a successful one. We are committed to providing a positive, safe, and stimulating environment for children to learn.

Our vision is simple yet profound: we want to aspire every child to love learning, help them reach their full potential, and become lifelong learners. Our dream is to nurture well-educated children who will shape a brighter future for our society.

Our Focus

At Chili Community House, our focus goes beyond textbooks. We aim to help children develop essential life skills such as discipline, respect, independence, and concentration. We are deeply concerned about their overall well-being and mental health, which is why we organize a variety of activities, including drawing, music, cooking, handicrafts, and gardening.

We firmly believe that life is about more than just formal education. A child should be equipped with a strong character and healthy habits to thrive in the world.

Our Special Programs

Hunger for Education: Indonesia faces two significant challenges: hunger/poverty and education. Our program addresses both by providing rewards to parents who encourage their children to attend school regularly. When a child attends school for 20 days in a month, their family receives food vouchers for groceries.

Healthy Meal: We are on a mission to teach children how to eat healthily and break harmful eating habits. We provide daily home-cooked lunch meals with well-planned diets. Children also learn about nutrition so they can make smart food choices.

Smart Learning: Our goal is to enhance the quality of education and ensure that every child acquires the skills they need for a successful life. We've designed a well-structured education plan that makes learning both enjoyable and effective. Children receive all the necessary learning aids, including books, stationery, and dedicated teachers.

How the Funds Will Be Used

Your generous support will play a crucial role in helping us fulfill our mission. The funds will cover essential expenses, including utilities like electricity and internet, facility rent, nutritious daily meals for the children, and learning equipment.

Furthermore, we are dedicated to uplifting our local community by supporting 25 school teachers from the Lombok local government school. We provide daily transportation, ensuring access to education for more children.
