Chili's $7,400 Surgery Recovery Fund

Hey folks, I completely understand if this is not your priority to donate, just wanted to start this gofundme in case Shane and I can get a little help with a recent emergency for Chili our 12 year old medium hair cat.

For her age, she is in perfect health. But she managed to eat something she shouldn't have and stopped eating more than a week ago - as of Friday 2/21. We took her to urgent care twice this past week and in the second visit, x rays showed a foreign object in her body.

Unfortunately it was in her small intestine. The vet had to do major surgery to remove the object. By this point she had not eaten for 5 days.

The surgery was successful, but Chili would still not eat or drink. We took her home the day after surgery in the hopes she would eat at home in a more comfortable environment. The surgery, medication and urgent care visits came to a total of $4,400. Shane and I were ready to work on paying this amount.

She still was unable to eat or drink the following day - this marked 48 hours after surgery and 8 days of not eating and barely drinking. We took her to the ER and had to hospitalize her for the night. In the morning, the vet did an ultrasound to check for complications. This so far has come to an additional $3,000.

We are still waiting to hear how chili is doing from the ER vet and if we will need to hospitalize her an additional night and potentially tube feed her to allow her to recover from surgery.
