Chinatown Community Events Fund

Beedie may have gotten their development permit approved for 105 Keefer in Chinatown, but as long as the gentrifier condo building isn't built, it's not over. We'll continue to fight on. We'll occupy and reclaim space loudly at 105 Keefer to protest with our culture, voices, and bodies.

To demonstrate our continued resilience, we're organizing a series of community events throughout the summer at the Chinatown Memorial Plaza next to 105 Keefer. These events will celebrate our heritage, foster solidarity, and empower the community.

Some exciting events include Chinese School, English language exchange for seniors, canto pop dance parties, cultural art workshops, kung fu classes, lion dancing classes, and much much more!

To bring these events to life, we need your support. Your generous contributions will help cover crucial costs, including purchasing community event-dedicated equipment and supplies. These funds will be allocated towards essential items such as easy-to-transport plastic stools for comfortable seating, event tents to provide shade during summer gatherings, portable sound systems for amplifying our voices, and any City of Vancouver fees for electricity access.
