Rest in peace, Chingy

You might know my cat Chingy from his early 2000s hits such as “Right Thurr” and “Holiday Inn”. Well, right now he’s chillin at the local cat hospital and he needs your help.
After noticing him lose his appetite and skip dinner (very out of character for the ching-man) and also seeming lethargic and uninterested in food the next morning, I knew I had to bring him into the vet. His x-rays looked good but the results of his bloodwork were concerning, showing he has a blood infection and elevated kidney enzymes. He has signs of this being an acute toxicity problem and is being treated with 48 hours in hospital, IV fluids and antibiotics, and repeat blood work in 2 days. If he is better, I think the assumption will be that he got into something bad and the emergency has passed. If he is the same or worse, we may be looking at a chronic kidney disease diagnosis.
Chingy is a very special, once in a lifetime kind of cat. Adopted from Cat Therapy & Rescue Society 6 years ago when he was 6 months old, he was rescued from a mass kill centre who had him kill-listed due to the fact that he was missing a back leg and no one wanted him. He was very insecure and sassy when I brought him home and struggled with depression and pica (an anxiety disorder resulting in compulsive eating of non food items). Over the years he has come out of his shell, gotten healthy and happy and has really become the sweetest, most loving cat. It’s been so sad and scary to see him get so suddenly sick and lethargic, but hopefully he is on the mend.
The total cost at the vet today was $1000 with a signed agreement I will attach to pay an additional $800 in two days, plus the cost of any additional take home meds should he need them.
As someone on a very fixed income with little savings, these expenses are devastating. So I am appealing to my friends and family and the pet lovers community at large just hoping that anyone who is in a position to be able to help will have a direct way to do so. I know times are tough for all of us right now so please do not feel pressure to donate if you are not in a financial position to do so. I appreciate any donation no matter how small, and thank you for taking the time to read his story.
