Chinook Surgery

Hi, my name is Kerry, and I hope to raise funds to buy more time on this earth for our beautiful, beloved wolfdog Chinook - who is 7 years old. We received the devastating news yesterday of an osteosarcoma diagnosis. If left untreated it can be quite aggressive - metastisizing and burrowing into and softening bones so that they break quite easily. His prognosis is 1-8 months, unless we opt for a particular kind of treatment.

These funds will be used for a limb-sparing surgical procedure where they essentially replace the bone (rather than amputate the limb, which has a high fatality rate). The care will be pursued at a local specialty clinic from a veterinary oncologist. He will still need chemo and radiation and subsequent check-ups.

My children and I are just heartbroken. My special boy is so amazingly cool and has brought so much joy to me and my family and so much intrigue from folks passing by and wanting to be closer to him. I just can't not try to save him.
