Chip Young (Family Friend and Mentor)

Chip Young is a remarkable man who has taught me so many lessons in life, love, family and hospitality. How to love deeply, how to show compassion, how to mentor, how to lead and most important how true friendship feels. In Oct. of 2017 Chip was diagnosed with prostate cancer. He went through several rounds of chemo & 27 rounds of radiation. To the doctors’ surprise & by the grace of our Heavenly Father He was able to continue to work full time. After completing this course of treatment, the follow up scans and tests indicated that there was “no sign of disease. Praise the Lord!!!

However, a routine follow-up in June of last year indicated the the cancer had returned. It showed up in his liver, lymph nodes, & the outer lining of his stomach. 

He’s been back in SA since mid January, not working & participating in a clinical trial to block the cancer. Again paired up with a great doctor a team of nurses, his treatment has been remarkable. 

Through the many twists & turns of this journey, he has remained very upbeat & optimistic.
