Chipo’s services and final medical bills
Donation protected
Hi everyone, first and foremost let me thank you all for your previous and current generous donations, it’s amazing that so many folks have supported us in our time of need.
As most of you are aware my wife Chipo was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer about 18 months ago. Unfortunately on August 29, 2023 she lost her hard fought battle.
About a month ago (end of July) my beautiful and vibrant wife started to experience noticeable cognitive decline to the point where I was concerned enough to get an MRI prior to her scheduled scans. We discovered additional brain lesions and started her on a course of whole head radiation ASAP. We were hoping that this treatment would get her in a better place cognitively but on Thursday 8/17, she was in such acute pain that we came back to the hospital and discovered additional tumor activity in her spine. 3 days later she’d declined to such a point that we thought it best to bring her to the hospital where her pain, agitation, confusion, and other symptoms could be better managed. There was hope she could pull through but sadly that was not the case.
We are so proud of Chips and the way she fought. She was such an inspiration to so many people. Even until her last days she was such a positive force and ray of sunshine. Of course she had her moments when it was all too much and overwhelming. But even then her fierce spirit could not be tamed.
What we’re trying to raise funds for her are funeral service costs and final medical bills. We’re also trying to make sure that any family members needing assistance to travel to Dallas from places as far as Zambia and Zimbabwe are covered.
Thank you to everyone that has supported us and continues to do so. Your love and care have been overwhelming in the best possible way.
