Chloe's Big Build.

Hi, my name is Mechelle and I'm raising money to make our home accessible for our little warrior Chloe. Chloe had a very turbulent start to life and as a result she sustained brain damage in her first few months, this has resulted in her having full body cerebral palsy, cerebral visual impairment, she is globally delayed, tube fed and has a long list of health issues. She has no independent mobility so relies on us to move her to wherever she needs to be and has a range of equipment to help her- sleep system, postural seating, wheelchair buggy, bath seat etc. As she gets older it is becoming more difficult to move her and so she needs a hoist as well as access to a downstairs bedroom and adjoining wet room, we also need a ramp outside and to widen doorways inside. As we own our home we are currently in a battle to get the council to help us and while they have agreed to fund some of the build they are currently only offering to fund a wet room and hoist and the system they have in place at present requires us to pay for the whole build up front then claim the money back. The bank are also not willing to help us at this time with a loan as we only have one income coming in due to me being Chloe's carer. As you can imagine this puts us in quite a predicament as these adaptions need to happen to allow us to properly care for Chloe and allow her to have access to all the equipment she needs to be included in family life. Any help you can give to our family will be greatly appreciated, Chloe is a special little girl who brightens up the world around her with her smiles and laughter, an accessible home is the very least she deserves.
