Chloe’s fight with Post Concussion Syndrome

Donation protected
My daughter Chloe had an injury to her head 6 months ago, where she simply hit her head misjudging the height of the play equipment at the childcare centre where she works.

Chloe was very proud of her achievement of gaining her traineeship at a childcare centre after finishing year 12 last year. She has come a long way since being diagnosed with autism, she has made me so very proud.

Chloe began her concussion recovery with pain and nausea medication and pushed through her days to get back to normality, we ended up very concerned as her symptoms were not getting any better. Little did we know this was not the right way for her recovery.
2 months ago Chloe suffered a spike in her symptoms which then led us to emergency with 10/10 pain. The strongest pain relief given to her under IV did not help.
Since then we have tried many treatments and different pain medications with still no relief.
Chloe still suffers from debilitating head pain, dizziness, brain fog and a speech stutter. It’s affecting her ability to walk, talk without feeling embarrassed, unable to drive or go back to work. She has lost her normal day-to-day living as she never has any relief.
With this injury, Chloe has had the rug ripped out from underneath her feet.
She has been given the run around with medical professionals. Unfortunately, Chloe’s work cover claim was unsuccessful due to her GP having a lack of knowledge as months passed and was still having symptoms, she was frustratedly diagnosed with anxiety, which has caused us to lose hope in this work cover claim.
Chloe has lost months of wages and has occurred large medical costs that have left us financially strained. It has included neurologists, speech therapists, cardiologists, physiotherapists, chiropractors and acupuncturists.
She has finished a 6-week intensive neurorehabilitation treatment and still requires further treatment. We are trying all different avenues and angles to beat this post-concussion syndrome. Chloe requires ongoing rehabilitation treatment, we have sourced another neuro rehabilitation clinic, new medications and are looking into other injection therapies in the hope to give her some relief from pain. As a mother, it pains me to watch her suffer each day, I ask myself each day, why such a beautiful soul has to go through this up hill battle. This struggle saddens Chloe each day and it rips me to pieces that I’m unable to take this pain away for her. I will not be giving up until we find answers. Every day we live in hope and pray that something will shift her pain.

Most concussions resolve themselves, however, 10-15% of concussions lead to post-concussion syndrome which it can take up to months to years to resolve. Please click the link below to find out more information.

My focus is to raise money to help Chloe trial other treatments to help her recover and hopefully have relief from this pain that she suffers every day.

To uplift her can I please ask for your support in a donation in either encouraging words or funds to help with the cost of treatment to have my daughter back.
