My father bought me my first training bra at the age of 13. Little did I know- from here, it would be a constant downhill struggle. It’s taken me years to accept what it was, and as a non-binary identifying individual, I thought I wasn’t “worthy” of top surgery. Having a larger chest- binders & transtaping has only added to my dysmorphia. The overstimulation from the binder, and the rashes/skin tearing from the tape has led me to swallow my pride and ask for help.

It's a huge deal for me to talk about this openly, it's something I'm extremely private and sensitive about. I’ve put off gofunding for years out of embarrassment and guilt for asking others for money. Esp when I’m aware we’re all struggling to get by. But at this point- desperation has long since set in. I’m attempting to save what I can (which in this current economy, is very little)

The cost of the surgery is $6,500, but that doesn’t include the medications, post op binders, & time off to heal which I will need. So I have set the goal for $7,000. In the state of South Carolina, insurance covers 0% of this gender affirming surgery. I fear that if the state of emergency for LGBTQ+ continues to go in the wrong direction, people such as myself will have to jump so many hurdles to the point of never being able to access safe medical care.

I want to be able to feel the sun on my back at the beach, to be able to work out without being restricted, be able to walk around and not constantly check my shirt every second to see if my binder is showing. I am one out of the millions affected by this, especially mentally. This surgery would allow me to experience euphoria that I’ve dreamed about since I was little :,)
