CHS Music Department to Chicago

Help 150 musicians from an inner city school in Philadelphia go to Chicago!
The young musicians of Philadelphia‘s Central High School will give performances in the Willis Tower (Formerly known as Sears Tower), perform with local Chicago schools and have a once in a lifetime opportunity to have musical clinics with The Chicago Civic Orchestra, all while learning and enjoying the rich culture and history of Chicago.
Central High School of the School District of Philadelphia is one of the oldest public schools in the United States. Although the school is widely acclaimed for its distinguished academic achievements, Central High is also home to a very talented and active music department which has received numerous prestigious awards. The music department’s orchestras and choirs have travelled and performed all around the world (England, Austria, Canada, and Israel- to name a few) over the years. Unfortunately starting in 2008, the school district started making drastic cuts in funding for music education which not only put a hiatus to all performance tours but even threatened an end to the renowned music department. Even though the music department kept getting invitations from around the world, there just weren’t enough funds to make it a reality. Now you can help us make this trip to Chicago a reality!
We humbly ask for your generous donations!
All donations will go to C.H.S.M.A (Central High School Music Association) which is a non profit organization therefore they are TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
