Choir at Millicent Fenwick House

Donation protected
The Millicent Fenwick House, located in Paterson NJ, is a Residential Community Release Program (RCRP) for female inmates in the New Jersey department of corrections with substance abuse and mental health issues with a work release component.

In other words, female inmates in the last months of their prison sentences come to Millicent Fenwick House to be rehabilitated before their release.

The motto of Millicent Fenwick house is, "Helping people with a past, build a Future."  I hope to assist these inmates in building a future by starting a choir at the halfway house. Music can provide a productive nourishing path for women.  I hope that by starting a choir they can create a community and build skills to reenter society with a positive light.

I will be raising money for the following:
~ $300 for Sheet music
~$500-$1000 for a keyboard
~ Gas money to get me to and from Paterson
~ Miscelaneous fees

To see the power of a choir in a correctional environment check out the amazing work of Dr. Judy Bowers at the Gadsen Correctional Facility in Florida: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyHaNgLzAu0
