Cholesteatoma Removal Surgery

Update: My surgery has been rescheduled to October 4th, 2023 to allow more time to gather funds.

Hi, my name is Jessica. I am the sole provider for my household which includes my 3-year-old daughter and my husband, who is the caregiver for our child.

I am trying to raise funds for a major surgery to remove the cholesteatoma in my middle ear. Cholesteatoma is an abnormal collection of skin cells deep inside your ear. It is rare and the only way to resolve it is by having surgery. This has been a result of lifelong ear infections resulting in significant hearing loss. Without surgery, the cholesteatoma will continue to grow (much like a tumor) and can lead to an abscess in my brain along with meningitis.

My original surgery date was Wednesday, July 19th , 2023. However, I was notified less than a week before my surgery that I needed to meet my deductible before I can proceed. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover it all and the deductible is nearly half of my monthly income.

These funds will be used to pay my deductible so that I can proceed with this much-needed surgery. They will also be used for any aftercare needs such as medical supplies.
