The Enlighten Project Initiative I: Chongqing

The Enlighten Project is a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the digital divide in education. Recognizing that the future of learning is increasingly online, our mission is to ensure underprivileged youth in low-income communities are not left behind in this technological shift.
At Taiji Town Central School in a rural district of Chongqing, Grade 7 Class 1's 27 students face challenges that are hard to imagine. These children, 20 boys and 7 girls, come from underprivileged rural backgrounds. Many have been left behind by their parents, bearing not just the weight of economic hardships but also a profound lack of companionship and emotional support.
Initiative 1: Chongqing is a focused initiative by The Enlighten Project to support these young, resilient learners. Our efforts are directed towards making a tangible difference in the lives of these students, helping to lift some of the burdens they carry every day.
Our campaign aims to provide these students with essential educational and recreational supplies, including backpacks, sports equipment like badminton and ping-pong rackets, basketballs, and bicycles, as well as winter accessories such as scarves and gloves. Beyond material support, we are committed to their academic and personal growth. This includes organizing English teaching sessions and establishing a companionship program virtually, where students are paired with Mandarin-speaking volunteers from our network for regular guidance and companionship, fostering both their educational development and emotional well-being.
From January 15th to March 1st, our target is to raise $500 through various fundraising efforts, including community events and appeals to corporate donors. We invite you to be part of this meaningful journey. Whether through a donation, volunteering for tutoring, or joining our mentorship program, your involvement can be a transformative force in these students' lives.
