Chris and Anna Marie Chambers

This GoFundMe account has been created for Anna Marie and Chris Chambers. Chris has been in many people’s prayers due to his recent medical crisis. Both Chris and his loving wife Anna Marie, have been part of the Old Chicago Dubuque family for many years and have been a critical part of the kitchen team. Chris is also an important asset in the food service department at the University of Dubuque.

Many may already know, but Chris has had a heart condition since he was a child. He has an artificial heart valve that has functioned well for many years. But over a month ago, Chris became ill. He was eventually transferred to the University of Madison, where it was discovered that he had an infection surrounding his heart and the valve. This led to a serious bleed in his brain. Chris has fought hard and regained consciousness. He is talking and even walking a bit. The doctors in Madison originally told Anna and Chris that Chris’s heart was not strong enough to handle the surgery he needed to heal the infection and repair his valve. This news was beyond devastating and his wife and family would not accept there was nothing that could be done to save Chris. Miraculously, Mayo Clinic has accepted Chris as a patient and will attempt the life-saving surgery that he needs. Chris was transferred by ambulance from Madison to Rochester early on November 9th.

Anna Marie, is originally from the Philippines. Chris’ kindness, hearty laugh, and willingness to help anyone who needed it quickly won Anna over. Anna Marie has been by Chris’s side for weeks, praying for his healing. She has had to learn many new things including how to drive, all while caring and supporting Chris. With neither being able to work, the travel to Madison and now Rochester, and the high level of care, they are in desperate need of everyone’s financial support.
