Chris and his art dream

Hi! My name is Maddie Smith. I have to honor of having Chris Smith as my dad. Since I can remember, My dad has been doing everything for everyone. From growing up in poverty, not knowing where his next meal would come from, to performing comedy, teaching, and working with college students at TCNJ, my dad has dedicated his life to helping others. I struggled with anxiety my whole life, and the only person who never left my side was him. He had my back through thick and thin. Even when it was scary to him, he helped me and made me who I am today. In October of 2022, My dad was in a life threatening car accident that left him in the ICU for a week. This accident left him in a place where he struggled for months after. During this time, he began to turn to art. My Dad is an incredibly artist, one of the most creative people I have ever met. This art became an outlet for his physical and emotional pain. For the first time in a long time, I saw my dad doing something that truly made him happy. I wanted to start this fundraiser to give back to him. Help him be able to continue to create art. He has given up so much for me, my sister, my grandma, great grandma, stepmom, etc. Chris is the living example of someone who would give his shirt off his back to someone else. Any amount would mean the world, to help the best father, husband, teacher, comedian, artist, friend, etc be able to express his talent.
