Chris and Will’s cycle to London

Hi, thank you for taking the time to visit our go fund me page! We are two 16 year old lads from Macclesfield, who want to do our bit to end the unnecessary stigma surrounding Mental Health. We believe that cycling from our home in Macclesfield to London would provide us with not only a difficult challenge physically, but also an extremely tough Mental challenge, this, we feel is a small price to pay to raise the profile of this fantastic charity that helps so many people.

 

We believe that still to this day, despite the recent rise in awareness surrounding Mental Health issues, people remain afraid and embarrassed to access the help they so desperately require, sadly leading to devastating consequences, for people of all back grounds. We are deeply saddened by the stories we continue to hear from people our own age and how their issues could’ve been sorted if they didn’t feel confined and stigmatised by society, for this reason we have decided to take on this challenge, to try and remove this stigma which has so sadly got the better of so many people.

 

Our journey will start at Macclesfield town hall on Friday 22nd October, and will come to an end at Buckingham Palace on Monday 25th October. Our journey will consist of 4 legs. Leg one will be from Macclesfield to Birmingham, leg two will be from Birmingham to Northampton, leg three will be from Northampton to St Albans, where we will rest ahead of our final push from St Albans into City Centre London, which is where our adventure ends, at Buckingham Palace.
