Chris Arnold Family Maui Disaster

My name is Genell Dawson, Chris Arnold’s first cousin. Chris’s sister, Heather Colletto, and I are raising money to help Chris and Saori get back on their feet.

The money will help the family purchase clothing, start their business and stay in a rental while trying to rebuild.

They have been a part of the Village of Lahaina Town for 28 years. They have raised three sons in the beautiful village of Lahaina. Two years ago, their oldest son, Koa tragically passed.

Their family has been through many evacuations—tsunamis and fires but none this intense. Most of us that live in Lahaina had no warning. They had less than three minutes to grab their dogs and run for their lives.

They’ve lost their primary residence and a rental home, which generated income for my family.

Hoku, 15, and Noa, 18, lost their supplies to make a living. Noa is a very talented entrepreneur who designs and buys, and sells shoes and clothing. They lost not only all of their items but their business equipment too.

Saori has her own business designing and selling crafts and handmade jewelry. Her design studio, alongside several companies, is rubble.

Chris is looking forward to helping my community get rebuilt. This could take several years to facilitate.

We are fortunate that they are safe and many friends are alive. Many people have lost the same as me and loved ones.
