Christopher Belyea Memorial Fund

Chris Belyea just turned 44 years old on August 5th, 2019.
After a very sudden and hard fought battle with autoimmune disease, Chris’s body was unable to beat this horrible illness and passed away on Saturday, August 24th. His loving brother Mike Belyea, sister in law Jen Belyea, myself cousin Kristine, his step-grandfather Yran (Papeto) Armas, Daphne Shands, his uncles Donald and Jimmy Barnett by his side. He is very much loved by all and is survived by his daughter Hailey Parker, niece’s Heather and Holly Belyea, many more loving cousins, aunts and uncles, close friends and co-workers.

Chris loved life, joking around, teasing and was great at making us all laugh! He was the kind of guy that loved you unconditionally and once he loved, he loved you deeply and forever. In a time where we all are spread across the nation and it’s easy to lose touch, Christopher would go out of his way to make sure that he kept in touch and make sure you knew he was thinking of you. If we all were that way the world would be a better place, entire families would be much closer.

Chris was very bright and loved playing guitar. He loved when I posted my son’s guitar recitals and always was encouraging, even drove all the way from Alabama just to give him new guitar strings he bought for him!! Chris worked at Great Southern Wood Preserving as a laborer and had many cherished friends. He graduated EMT college but was unable to continue this profession after coming home from saving lives to find his Mom passed away at their home. Something that few of us would have ever recovered from. Chris’s heart was so big and he loved so deeply. He loved his parents and brother Mike, daughter Hailey and nieces Heather and Holly more than his own life. They were all he ever talked about. He was so proud of all of them.

Chris’s brother Mike has had a very difficult road over that past few years. First, having to bury his loving and kindhearted father Michael Belyea Sr, then less than a year later his loving and hilarious Mother Virginia passed away from a broken heart after losing her husband. Now Mike is left with the heartbreak of losing his only sibling and the financial burden of taking care of Chris’s remains in a loving and respectful way.

This family helped me a lot as a teenager when I was lost. Took me into their home, held me up and loved me unconditionally like I was one of their own.

I know we will all come together to help Mike and his family spend less time worrying about how they will pay for final expenses thus giving them an opportunity to grieve and start the healing process.

Many of you have asked, “How can I help”. That’s the easy part. Mike needs all the help he can get with the advancing expenses. Any and all help you can give to lessen their financial burden and offset his final expenses would be greatly appreciated. No donation is too small!! Even 5$ is five dollars closer to meeting their need for Chris’s final expenses.

The average cost in the US for funeral home cremation is $4800 -10,000. Certificates and paperwork alone average $1,300. Base services of the funeral homes to look at you is $2,000. Transporting the remains to the funeral home is around $380. Rental casket prior to cremation up to 1,000. Medical examiners fees to release remains, cremation vault fees, expedited cremation services, urn costs…. The list goes on and on.

Chris's death was such an unexpected, untimely and emotionally devastating loss.

Any amount of relief to lessen the financial strain on Chris’s family would be greatly appreciated. Any and all donations will go directly to Mike and Jen to cover Chris's final cremation expenses.
