Chris Farrar's recovery

On July 4th, Chris and John Farrar traveled to a family event and were tragically involved in a collision on their way. After being transported to Harborview's Intensive Care Unit, John died from his injuries.

 

Chris remains in the ICU under the care of excellent nurses and doctors. Their kids have remained by her side throughout this ordeal. She is talking, making daily improvements, and is expected to recover after a long road of intense therapy.

 

The entire family, including their six children and their spouses, 16 grandchildren and great-grandson, Chris' siblings and John's sister, are still processing the loss of our Dad / Papa / John.

 

In addition to their large extended family, Chris and John touched the lives of hundreds of children through the work of Chris' home daycare and kindergarten. The memories and lessons shared through the years in their home will live on.

 

Chris and John were married on July 20th, 1972 and this month would be their 50th wedding anniversary. They were excited to soon move into their "forever home" in Everett, be closer to family, and build community with their new neighbors.

 

Now Chris will be adjusting to a different lifestyle on her own, with significantly less income. She will be surrounded by love and support from her family and we will all help her through this difficult time.

 

The final medical bills are unknown and her ICU stay and continuing therapy will be lengthy. All funds will go directly to Chris so she can make the transition to her new life more comfortably.
