Chris Greaves Memorial Trophy 2024
In July we will be marking the 2 year anniversary of Chris Greaves, the father of one of our founding members Will. Chris made an impact in many aspects of life, both at home and at Wyvern academy where he was a popular teacher. Chris was also a coach at Blackwell Rangers, who organised a memorial tournament after the sad passing of Andy Blair in 2016.
We thought it was fitting to not only remember Chris but Andy as well this summer, whose son Alex is also a founding member of Spartans. Andy too left a legacy to those who knew him, and football was a massive part of his life whether it be through supporting Liverpool or coaching at Allstars.
We invite all friends and family to the Chris Greaves Memorial Trophy and Andy Blair Memorial Shield on the 21st July as we raise funds for Mind and Macmillan to not only remember these two inspiring men, but to try and help people suffering with Mental Health and Cancer in the future. As well as the football tournament, we will have activities to keep people of all ages engaged, with food and drink facilities on site too.
This promises to be a great day. We hope you can make it, but if not we will be setting up a fundraising page with 80% of proceeds going to Mind, and 20% to Macmillan. Thank you
