Chris Habig's beat Parkinson's fund

Donation protected
For those of you on the West Side of Cincinnati you may have known of a great German family owned restaurant called Habig’s. Habig’s was located on Harrison Avenue in Westwood from 1933 to 2004.

I am one of Chris’s siblings (we have a total of nine children  in our family and we have been blessed with good health, happiness and are always surrounded by family).  Our parents were LaVerne and Henry Habig. They taught us how to be giving, caring and to help the less fortunate whenever we can.

We are asking for your prayers as Chris battles Parkinson’s disease. We love our brother who at a young 55 years of age is facing this horrible disease. We are asking for donations (no amount is too small) with whatever you are able to give along with positive and healing messages on this page.

Chris has worked in the restaurant industry his entire career and took great pride in taking care of people. Now it is time to recipricate. Chris is now facing the reality that he may no longer be able to work due to his physical limitations. We are reaching out to friends and family to help.  He will be applying for disability soon, but with all things bureaucratic it is a long, difficult process. It could be over a year before he starts seeing benefits. The funds raised will go towards the cost of his medication which is extremely unaffordable. Chris recently started a new medicine treatment; however, Parkinson's disease has no cure.  The treatment we believe that has the best hope of at least slowing the progression of this disease is not covered by insurance.

Chris is an amazing person. To know him is to love him. Despite his challenges, he still has an amazing ability to make people laugh.

We cannot thank you enough for your donation to Help Chris Habig’s  Parkinson’s Disease Fund. Our pledge in return for your kindness is that we will live the best lives we are able, we will always help others and we will find and create opportunities in life to “pay-it-forward,” as you are doing now.

And finally, please share this campaign through Facebook and email with a personal message from you to your network asking them to read it, consider contributing, and sharing as well.

Thank you for your love, your support, and the incredible gift of your help.

Happy Holidays to your and your loved ones.  Wishing you happiness and health in 2017.
