Chris last hike
Never at the age of 36 did I think I would be in this position of losing my husband but hear I am and hear is our story and why I would like to raise as much money as I can to help others that are in this hell that we are..
On 7th April 2025 my world came crashing down my brother rang me to say Chris had come off his bike my heart stopped thats when my world started crashing down, my brother usually leaves work 4pm everyday but that day left at 4.15 just behind Chris as they work together, and I believe that day he was meant to be there at that time with him as if he wasnt chris would of been dead before the emergency services even got there ill always be greatful for that he give me them 3 extra days with him, I got over to the scene while they where working on Chris thats when I realised it was bad my heart stopped that second,
Chris suffered a heart attack at the scene as he was stuck under the van, it crush his lungs he couldn't breath causing him to have this heart attack aswell as another 1 on the way to hospital, he was in a very bad way and the hospital prepared us for the worst!
He got took up to ITU and for 3 days they tried to save him but his injures where just to much for his body to handle,
At that moment of pure dread to learn that my husband wasn't coming home our kids arnt going to see there king again broke me in 2 how will I explain this to our kids, in our moment of pure dread the hospital supplied memory boxes for our girls, these boxes had bracelets, his hand print, Teddy, his heart trace in a glass jar, candle key ring, loads or little things that you wouldn't even think about everything that was in that box chris had on him also so i could take pictures to show our girls! They also give me handmade blankets what they put over Chris and to bring them home also, in that time of pure dread thinking about our children this helped so much and still is I will be forever greatful for that!!
So this June date still to be confirmed we will be climbing the 3 peaks in Yorkshire in Chris memory we where meant to go in June for my birthday even though he hated walking says he done enough of it in the army but he would do anything for me he always did!! I had the best years with Chris we all did all that knew him, he would be so proud that I'm turning my grief into a positive and powering through for our girls and rasing money in his memory
Please remember to hold your love 1s close don't bicker or argue over stupid things as you don't know what is around the corner RIP chris u will be so missed by all
Thank you all who have donated I means so much to me
