Chris Moura Direct Relief Fund

As some of you may know, this last December of 2020, I faced the unfortunate loss of my dad, Richard J. Moura. During this time, I was unable to work at my job as I was dealing with a hefty portion of my grief, and while I am currently performing well at my job now, I am still recovering financially from that lost time. His funeral cost is close to, if not $11,000, and so far, I have only been able to pay roughly ~$3,000 of that back, leaving me still $8,000 "in the hole." This debt does not even include the cost for the lawyers required to go through probate court to claim Dad's assets. With just the declaration of the value of his assets, we have been charged close to $500. I can only imagine the cost after we begin processing the actual assignment.

In addition to the funeral cost, probate lawyer costs, and the regular bills I need to (rent, utilities, insurance, groceries), I have also been faced with car repairs I need to tend to. My Honda CR-V requires its front axles replaced, brake line inspected, and a replacement driveshaft. At the same time, while I was driving my father's car to prevent further damage to my own car, I was involved in a car crash that resulted in hundreds of dollars worth of damages. Insurance may cover most of it, but I still have to pay a deductible.

In summary, I could use some money. It's not desperately urgent at this point in time, but after I pay for the repairs on the CR-V I will barely have enough to cover my rent and the deductible cost for repairs on my dad's car. Any bit of support I can get to pay my bills, fix the cars, pay off the funeral debt, or pay off the lawyers would help tremendously. Even just reading this passage helps validate my struggle and helps me feel seen. Thank you, all of you. I love you <3
