Chris Mullen and wife Christy Weller
Donation protected
Chris Mullen and Christy Weller are local Highlanders who are in need of love and support from their community. Help us come together and raise funds for this local family in need.
On Tuesday June 20th Chris was hospitalized at Angel medical center in Franklin and was quickly transfered to Mission in Asheville with pleural effusion, pneumonia, and a blood clot in his left lung. Once in Asheville they discovered the issue was more severe than initially thought.
Today, June 29th Chris was officially diagnosed with lung adenocarcinoma (a cancer that forms in the glandular tissue). He is currently in the ICU awaiting news on treatment options and to be told where they will need to go from here.
They have a very challenging road ahead of them, and we would love for money to be the last thing they have to worry about. Chris is a hard working dependable guy who never asks for anything. Prayers are very needed and any donation would be much appreciated. Let's show them some Highlands community love.
In the coming days there will also be a bank account open for them at First Bank in Highlands. Thank you for all the support and prayers!
***Update***
Initially it was thought Chris was going to be treated for something as normal as a sinus infection or allergies & after being sent to Mission he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung Cancer that has collapsed his left lung over 90%, the other 10% is suffering from pulmonary effusion, blood clots & pneumonia. They started chemo treatments Sunday 7/2 and he is undergoing weeks of unending tests, procedures & surgeries. On Thursday 7/6 he was taken into emergency surgery to remove a massive clot from his right lung, while at the same time, had a venacaval filter on a vein in his thigh to keep a 'mobile' clot from traveling into his lungs.
Please keep Chris and Christy in your prayers as they navigate the hard weeks ahead.
