Meet Chris & Pam!

This September will be 11 years this amazing couple has been together. They have been engaged for years & on Sept. 1st they will marry at a blessing ceremony in front of over 100 family & friends.

Pam is 62 and is 20 years older than Chris. She says some even call her a cougar. One of the many great things about Special Olympics is you never have to retire from your favorite sport.

Chris currently works at Target. He worked at Mcdonald's for 17 years but got replaced by that computer lady! Pam works at MidAmerica Nazarene University. I have had the honor of coaching the Johnson County Rangers for 25 years. Pam says she has been doing Special Olympics for 51 years! She calls herself "Captain" & does an amazing job leading the squad. Chris is also on the team and we count on him for his big voice and enthusiasm.

First practice this season Chris was not there. Pam said they were only doing 1 sport each this year because they are saving for their wedding that is finally happening! They both play basketball & do many other activities through JCPRD Special Olympics.
The coaches & moms did not want to go the season or competitions without Chris. We said to bring him next practice and we will cover his fee. ($25.00)

They have been saving for a long time & hoping for a future honeymoon, possibly a Disney Cruise.
I offered to help them with the catering and would love to surprise them and pay for the food & cake so they can use their money towards that trip. (Update: We have the food & cake covered thanks to everyone & the rest goes towards the honeymoon)!

Their contagious positive attitudes, hugs & smiles have been a huge blessing in my life. I would love nothing more than to bless them back.

Thanks for your support! #RelationshipGoals :)

Wedding Update: I called Pam Chris to go over some details...
I asked Pam about her dress as I am planning to do her makeup & hair. She said she is wearing a green dress that she already has and will just have plain hair. My first thought was we need to go dress shopping asap! I asked if she was happy with that and she said "Yes". Their main concern was about a family member getting fish because he couldn't have bbq. Once again teaching us to be grateful for what we have and to keep life simple.

Wedding Update: Cake tasting was fun & their cake will represent their fun personalities with a layer of red velvet & one of tiramisu. It will be decorated in their favorite colors of blue & green flowers.
