Chris Ransick Medical Fund

Poet, disc-golfer, chef extraordinaire: our dear friend and colleague Chris Ransick has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. All of us who are privileged to know Chris know that he is not taking this news passively, and indeed, as the doctors have told him that he has hope of beating this with successful treatment, he is settling in for a long fight. 

However, this treatment comes with a physical and financial cost. As you know, Chris retired early to help support his wife Shannon, who is battling her own health issues. And while they have been living on their own terms in Oregon, neither of them is in a position to return to the workforce to increase their income. We are hoping this fund can relieve some of the stress Chris and his family are facing as he prepares to battle this disease along with a healthcare system that, ultimately, needs to do better.
