Chris’s road to recovery
Donation protected
Hi. My name is Allyssa and I’m raising some funds to help Chris with loss of income and potentially some help with hospital bills due to time spent in the ER/trauma center. We both have spent about two weeks away from work now and the hospital bills are piling on.
We appreciate all the love and support we’ve revived, and it’s beautiful to see how many people have reached out to Chris wishing him a fast and safe recovery.
Some of you may know what has happened, but for those of you that don’t here’s a quick recap:
Chris had been feeling ill for over a week (flu like symptoms) head aches, body aches, cold sweats, and a lot of neck pain and took a week off work. On Friday January 13th, I went to work in the morning leaving Chris in bed, still feeling ill. He text me at 6:33 PM letting me know that our dog Rex has puked in the house and wasn’t feeling well. I text from work asking a few questions and called a couple
times but no response. I thought it odd as Chris always is attentive when the animals aren’t feeling great.
At 7:15 I got home and went downstairs to our bedroom to find Chris. He was lying face down, eyes open, unresponsive. It took my a couple tries, but I was finally able to get him sitting up. I noticed he had clawed his shins, looked pale, was dripping sweat, and could only respond with the word “what”. After asking him a few questions (what’s your name? Do you know where you are? Do you know who I am) and him unable to respond with anything other than “what” or “idk”, I realized he must’ve have a seizure of some sort so I rushed to call the paramedics. They showed up quickly and rushed him to the ER and by 8:30 we were together again. He couldn’t remember my name or what had happened but his memory was slowly returning (typical of a seizure).
We’ve spent the entire weekend and now going to week with out any answers of what has happened. Chris’ memory is back almost completely (small details like the color
of our couch are still missing) and his brain shows no damage due to seizure. Doctors are confused about what caused it since his brain looks unharmed and there are no signs in his CT, MRI, or EEG of seizure disorders. We have found some evidence of spinal disturbances but after a Lombard extraction (spinal tab) all evidence of an infection are ruled out. We are at a loss and will have to spend more time testing. We are unsure how much longer we will be without answers but are hopeful they are coming soon.
That being said, we are both running low in funds and would appreciate all the help we can get. It’s been a very scary experience for Chris, and for his family, we are hoping for answers and that he can come soon. He misses his friends, his animals, and family very much.
Thank you
