Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals,
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we come together to remember and honor the life of Chris Shupe, a remarkable man who touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. Tragically, Chris was taken from us on Tuesday in a devastating incident involving a drunk driver while he was riding his beloved custom hardtail Harley.
Chris was not just a person; he was a force of nature. His charm and charisma made him the star of any room he entered, and his authenticity allowed him to deeply connect with people from all walks of life. Whether you knew him for a lifetime or only briefly, Chris manifested joy and happiness wherever he went.
Our skater boy, as he affectionately became known, was athletically gifted at everything he tried - from basketball and softball to being a standout lacrosse goalie for Brighton. His skills extended to the slopes, where he mastered snowboarding at The Bird, and even to the unconventional like shooting stick (is that a sport?). Beyond sports, he was a musician at heart, playing the guitar and recently rediscovering his love for the piano. Duck hunting became a recent passion, reflecting his love for crisp, quiet mornings, the challenge, the beauty, and the solitude.
Chris proudly represented the Philadelphia Eagles Bird Gang everywhere he went, and his recent return from the game in Tampa was a testament to his unwavering devotion. Fly, Chris, Fly!
To celebrate Chris's life, a gathering will be held on Thursday, February 1, 2024, from 6-8 PM at Starks Funeral Parlor, 3651 South 900 East, Millcreek. Guests are encouraged to use parking and entrance located on the north side of the building.
Let us honor Chris's memory by remembering the joy and happiness he brought into our lives and by spreading the crucial message: DON’T DRINK AND DRIVE.
In support of this message, we invite you to join us in this fundraiser dedicated to establishing a memorial fund in Chris’s honor that will champion recovery and mental health initiatives. To honor his legacy and contribute to a cause that held immense significance to him, we want to raise funds that will directly support programs aimed at saving lives. This fundraiser is not only an opportunity to remember Chris but also a chance to actively contribute to a cause that can prevent similar heartbreak in the future. We see this as an opportunity to transform tragedy into triumph. It is our intent to use this money directly in the Salt Lake City community that was Chris’s home and make an annual contribution to these causes. This fundraiser will serve as the beginning of foundation that will keep Chris Shupe’s memory alive and allow him to continue bringing joy, hope, and positivity into the world. Join us in making a difference, spreading awareness, and fostering a community that prioritizes responsible choices, mental health, and recovery.
Thank you for your support, love, and contributions. Every little bit helps, and together we can make a difference.
