Chris Tippin Memorial Fund

On Friday Aug 6th, 2021 the team at Westridge Marine Terminal received the heartbreaking news that one of our top Foremen and close friend to many onsite, Chris Tippin passed away.

It didn't take long to realise that Tippin’s work ethic and leadership were second to none; With his positive and supportive attitude, Chris quickly won the respect of not just his crew and close co-workers, but from all disciplines and support crews sitewide.

During his time at Westridge Tippin wore many hats for the project; he worked with our utilities, civil and the manifold shoring groups. Always accepting a challenge, pushing himself and his crew carrying out quality work, Chris never lost sight of what was important... the men and women who worked for and with him.

Not only was he commended repeatedly for his well-planned and safe work operations, but he also took the time and made and effort to keep morale high in a challenging work environment. When talking to new and young fathers about his own experiences as a doting father, Chris often spoke fondly of his daughter, Courtney. It was always clear how important family was to Chris.

We are thankful for the time he spent with us as a valued member of our team, and he will be greatly missed.

Courtney is currently in Vancouver with her mother and grandmother making arrangements. This fund has been established to help relieve his family of the financial burden during this extraordinarily difficult time. We will have to collectively overlook the fact that Tippin was a diehard Toronto Maple Leafs fan and let’s please show the Tippin family what an impact Chris made in our lives and help them as much as possible.
