Chris Vaughn (Celebration of Life Fund)

From The Vaughn Family - We hope to raise mental health awareness and break the stigma around talking about it. Our late son and brother, Chris Vaughn suffered from mental health disorder, but he wasn't completely comfortable speaking about it with everyone. And without proper outlets to express his emotions he felt trapped in a sense and the depression built. Chris sought help and was diagnosed with acute depression and PTSD. He began to take steps to help himself (keep in mind, as a freelance worker his employer did not provide medical health insurance coverage, so he was paying out of pocket for his own mental health examinations). But at this point his problems (in his mind) became too much too handle, which led to him committing suicide.

Chris was insured, but life insurance does not cover suicide or consider mental health self inflicting deaths. Leaving our family to pay for most expenses that would have been paid for otherwise. These donations will help pay for the first mental health session(s) for a group of young men battling mental health disorders; As well as assist with additional memorial expenses.
