Our good friend and colleague, Chris Werner, Assistant Professor of Music at Lakeland University, has been battling esophageal cancer for the past two years.
Chris is a wonderful person - passionate, caring, funny, giving, and boundless in energy! In just a few short years as the band director at Lakeland, he has already left a lasting legacy. He is incredibly loved and respected by his students and colleagues. Chris brings his inifinite enthusiasm to his every endeavor and interaction.
As so often happens in major illnesses, insurance and sick leave are beginning to fall short for Chris. So we're looking for ways to help Chris. One way we're helping is through a fundraiser on Lakeland's campus on November 13, but we know that many of Chris' friends and family will not be able to participate in this event. So in addition, we're appealing to you to give what you can through this GoFundMe page to help ease his financial situation.
