Medical bills for Chris Barber

Donation protected
In 2020 my father had a stroke and a heart attack. He has been to the emergency room numerous times in 2020, 2021, and 2022. His being in the hospital led to him being fired from his job that he held for 22 years at Cardinal IG in January 2022 making it so that he could not make it to work and back. He lost his great health insurance and life insurance with his job.
Fast forward to November 2022 he was admitted to Medical City Arlington with Ketoacidosis and went home with a blood clot in his arm to have dissolved with medication. He was able to hit a good stride and was able to spend Christmas with us, but December 28th he went into the Ennis regional Emergency room with ketoacidosis. They were able to get him out of ketoacidosis and his blood pressure shot up causing him to have another stroke. That caused him to be given an MRI to find out he has had multiple strokes from 2020 till this new one in January 2023. He went into an unconscious state for five days and was given a feeding tube through his stomach so he could be moved to a rehabilitation center. He was not given time to adjust to a normal state after his stroke but his vitals were normal so he was prematurely discharged from Ennis. He was then moved to the Twilight rehabilitation center and was sent back into ketoacidosis within the day from not getting his insulin till 5:30 pm. He then was transported to Baylor Dallas where he received the care needed to get back to walking and all of the necessary steps to be able to return to Twilight. By the end of his stay, he was swollen from being in bed for so long. He was discharged and everything was looking up. He was at Twilight for two weeks before his temp went up one day, his oxygen dropped the next day, and his body became noticeably distended. My brother and I took him to Navarro regional where they ran tests that showed he had an infection, he had a blood transfusion, and he had retained 50 pounds of liquid between the Baylor stay and the Navarro Regional stay due to his kidneys backing into his system from how long he had been laying in bed. He was back at Twilight for a few days and started to seem lethargic and was not responding fully on February 6th. He was then transported to Waco Providence having numerous tests run on him a day. He had a second blood transfusion within three weeks on 02/08/23. He was confused and having a hard time being positive. He’s been continuously on a large amount of medication. While admitted to Waco Providence we were informed that he was unable to return to the Twilight.

This has been a complete nightmare for my father and us as a family.
We’re doing everything we can to get him social security to help with the long-term care that he’s needing but we have been waiting for the state to assign a caseworker to move the process along. Because he’s so young we are struggling to get him the disability that he so desperately needs to be able to get long-term care. Physical therapy and occupational therapy out of pocket are nearly three times the Corsicana TX rent.
He gives a tithe to the church and has been a dutiful member at First Baptist Blooming Grove. His doctor's bills have been strenuous and continuous, and he still needs to rehabilitate amongst other things that still need to be taken care of and planned for.
Anyone’s donation would be a tremendous amount of help, and I know it would be the blessing that my family is hoping for.
