Road to Jiujitsu worlds
Donation protected
My name is Christopher Alfonso. Follow my Instagram @chris88alfonso. I am raising money in order to fund my expenses for up and coming Brazilian Jiujitsu tournaments.
I order to test my self to the fullest, I need to travel large distances and fund myself at these large tournaments.
All donations would contribute to the travel expenses and training for the Worlds Master and beyond.
A little about me :)
-
I began training martial arts at just four years old in Puerto Rico when my father, a Goju Ryu Karate third degree black belt, enlisted me in classes due to behavioral issues. From there, I started training Judo at age seven at a municipal center in Carolina, Puerto Rico. At age nine, I began training Aikido. During this time, I had my first real experience of camaraderie inside of the martial arts dojo. I then moved on to Taekwondo at age eleven, where I gained experience and competed in my first tournament. At age 14, my family moved from Puerto Rico to Florida, and my interests shifted to music. I spent the next five years focusing on my guitar skills, but at age 17 I found myself wanting to train martial arts again. I began training boxing under Howard Davis Jr. at American Top Team in Coconut Creek, Florida. I also trained Muay Thai under Steve Bruno and competed in the South Florida circuit until the age of 24. In 2016, I moved to New York and soon began training Brazilian jiu jitsu at Masterskya. I am currently a purple belt under Alex Ecklin and Van Flores. I've been competing in New York circuit ever since. As a long time martial artist, I believe competing in these tournaments around the world would be a great opportunity and challenge for myself. What better way to test my self than competing against everybody around.
Thank you.
