Support Chris Cathcart's Family
Donation protected
Please help support my brother Chris Cathcart, his wife Kristina and four daughters, Erika, Mackenzie, Tori and Claire. Chris was diagnosed with CLL leukemia on February 14, 2010 and has been in remission since December 2012. Eighteen months later in June of 2014 Chris was diagnosed with non-hodgkin's lymphoma. In Dec of 2015, due to the ineffectiveness of his treatment protocol and uncomfortable side effects, his Drs stopped all treatments. Subsequently, the cancer progressed even further; mid Jan 2016 Chris went to the ER for abdominal pain and was promptly hospitalized with a life threatening staph infection. Needing to treat the staph infection immediately, the cancer treatments have been tabled until the infection is cleared. This treatment continues until late Feb 2016. Chris will then begin an aggressive chemotherapy treatment, to get the cancer managed. On the bright side, Chris has been selected to take part in a CAR T-Cell transplant clinical trial at the City of Hope in the Spring of 2016; this is a cure! Chris maintains a positive prayerful attitude, and knows he will make it through all this. Nonetheless, the side effects have taken their toll and he has been unable to work (self-employed) for months. His oncologist has put him on bed rest for the next 3-6 months. Financially, he has burned through his cash reserves and retirement savings. With three teenagers still at home, you can imagine this is a very difficult time for him and his family with all the usual living expenses. Call it pride or whatever, Chris wouldn't ask for help outside the family. So, unbeknownst to him, I set up this page in the hopes that all of his and our friends will come to the aid of a genuinely good guy, husband, dad, brother and friend. You know he will be grateful for any and all support you can offer to him and his family. Thanks in advance, Kevin Cathcart.
