Chris Cirillos Cancer Fight

For those of you who know Chris Cirillo, you already know what a wonderful person he is. Chris has touched so many of our lives through the years with his caring and generous ways. He is a dedicated individual not only to his family and friends but also to the community.

After graduating from West Essex Regional High School in 1985, Chris continued his education at LaSalle University where he enjoyed playing baseball. Chris’ passion for sports did not end there. His elite status in racquet ball and golf are achievements to be truly proud of.

For many years Chris dedicated his time coaching for the Fairfield Falcons Football program. He has taught the kids of our community many valuable lessons and built great memories that will last a life time. Chris has also managed and coached the Fairfield Pirates Baseball team, this organization has been very successful due to his continued support and dedication.

It was devastating to all of us when Chris was diagnosed with cancer in 2012. While undergoing an aggressive treatment of chemotherapy and radiation Chris kept a positive focus on getting better. The treatment was successful and Chris eventually regained his strength and started enjoying life again.

We are all sad to learn that Chris will once again have to deal with fighting cancer. Chris’ oncologists feel extremely positive the best treatment at this time is immunotherapy. Immunotherapy is a treatment that uses the body’s own immune system to help fight the cancer. Chris began his treatment in July and will continue his treatments at Morristown Memorial Hospital.
