Chrissy Wiltshire to support Dorset Disability Cricket
Donation protected
Anyone who knew Chrissy or who crossed paths with her on the boundary would know of her passion for cricket. She'd loved cricket from a young age and couldn't have been happier when her only son Stephen took up the sport. Steve was good - really good - and progressed quickly through to county level playing not only for the Dorset Disability Cricket Team but an England Representative Team for the charity CFPD (Cricket Federation for People with Disabilities). Steve went on to Captain the Dorset County team and Chrissy couldn't have been more proud.
Chrissy was heavily involved with Disability Cricket in Dorset. She was the county team minibus driver for many years until poor health forced her to give up her minibus keys and First Aider. She was the team's most avid supporter and her laugh could be heard all over the cricket pitch - often on the neighbouring one too! She also showed off her hidden batting talents at a Family & Friends cricket match but sadly declined the offer to sign up for the county team
Chrissy was loved by all who met her. She was the salt of the earth and a true East Ender - who insisted on educating everyone on the joys of Pie, Mash & Liquor!
She will be greatly missed.
Chrissy wanted donations in her memory to benefit Dorset's County Disability Cricketers. This is an extremely kind and generous parting gesture and is a reflection of not only her passion for cricket, but her strong and unwavering belief that cricket really is a game for all.
The funds collected will be used to support Dorset County Disability cricketers to attend essential winter training and matches, and to keep them playing the sport they love.
